Those That Die Shall Rise Again

Now as a disclaimer I should note, this is my first but defiantly not my last conspiracy theory. It is incredibly insensitive and could be potentially offensive. Of coarse, no matter what ya'll shall read on, but never the less I gave out my warnings.

This image is recognizable the world over. The crucifixion of Jesus is seen as the defining evidence of the omnipotent.
It was after this one episode that Christianity became the largest religion in the world. This proved it. There must be a God. To defy death is the ultimate show of power.

For believers world wide, this is the proof, this is the argument they bring up when ever there is an atheist in the room. For not even science can resurrect (lol jks). Surely God is the only explanation.

I, among many, propose a different theory. A conspiracy.

Now Pontius Pilate is the man famous for judging Jesus' public trial, and sentencing hi to crucifixion. Pilate served under Emperor Tiberiouis. Both were intelligent men, and both were facing a problem.
Christianity.

At this time Rome was quite unorganized, especially spirituality. There were Muslims, Jews, upcoming Christians and countless Pagans, each with their own set of gods and customs.
If you were Emperor, what would you do? what would make a strong, united kingdom..a universal religion perhaps?
And why not take this new upcoming religion and shape it for your own liking? Most of the work was already done for you, there was a strong leader with countless disciples, and more growing with each day.

So that sounds like plan, but what would coax even the most spiritually rooted individual to become a christian? Each religion had stories of miracles. Each had supernatural powers. Oracles. Prophets.

But a resurrection, to rise again, and defy death. That is something no one can ignore.

Now that we have the who, what and why, we need the how.
Of course, as the story goes, Jesus is betrayed by Judas, and is taken away to the public trial. Pontius Pilate convicted Jesus and ordered his death by crucifixion.
And this is where the magic began.

Now I'm not saying the pain wasn't real, it would have excruciating, the nails, the beatings..no thanks.
But you must notice one thing, our dear Jesus was treated better than his accompanied criminals. Now although the artistic representations may no show, when one was crucified although nailed to the cross, he had a small railing to stand on, to take the weight off his arms.
If one was not dead by the 2nd day, the railing was broken, as to hurry the experience.
Jesus, being one of three, was the only left with with the support of the railing. That's a little strange.

Now there is controversy on what happened next, of coarse there is the accepted theory, but hey that's boring. A much more interesting theory however revolves around pretty little plant called Mandrake.

'mandrake contains deliriant hallucinogenic tropane alkaloids such as atropinescopolamineapoatropinehyoscyamine and the roots sometimes contain bifurcations causing them to resemble human figures,'

There are painting and carvings of this plant found all over Rome, and many legends pointing towards a possible explanation to resurrection due to Mandrake. The Side effects of Mandrake are various, one in particular in quite interesting. Mandrakes allows one to remain unconscious for a long period of time, and slows their heart rate down to an almost stop.  There is another fictional story that you may remember that involves this drug and its effects. Romeo and Juliet anyone? (Given a potion, appears dead, blah blah blah wakes.)
So is it possible? There were accounts of witnesses seeing the Roman soldiers feeding Jesus something, pouring it into his mouth. Water, wine.. Mandrake?

Next thing you know is pronounced dead and is buried in  a tomb, secure. Three days later he wakes, alive and well. A MIRACLE! or a good nap?

And of course you are thinking that Jesus would speak, but ask yourself, would you deny being the Son of God? Immortality and worship sound good to me.

So in the end, Christianity sweeps over Rome, and the people unite in their faith, and who is their to guide them? Politicians of course! After all who are more trustworthy, right?

Faith can be used as a tool my dear friends.
Not saying is was, just saying it can be.

  1. Perhaps you wouldn't deny it because you were in on it from the get go?

  2. but yes, you can argue that it was or wasn't created for that reason till the cows come home [or don't come home in this case ;)] but it definitely has been used as a tool to control people, and will continue to

  3. so is any of this based on tangible evidence or stealing from other peoples crazed conspiracy theories?
